Barclays Munich M&A and Markets Workshop

Do you want to find out what to expect from a job at a large and globally operating Investment Bank? Are you interested in testing your financial skills during a practical challenge?

Then we would like to invite you to our Barclays M&A and Markets Workshop. The workshop will be kicked-off by a company presentation to get a deep insight into Barclays. Following we will start with our workshop in which the students will be split into two groups, M&A and Markets, based on their indicated interest. Joined by professionals from Barclays, you will then be given the opportunity to analyze a challenging case designed to give you a detailed understanding of the M&A respectively Markets business. At the end you will have the chance to speak to our professionals and ask them all you would like to know about their work and life as a banker as well as any other questions you might have.

M&A

In recent years Barclays has built up a #6 position in DACH M&A and is determined to further grow the team based in Frankfurt. We offer the full suite of corporate finance products and advice to large and mid-sized German corporates and are supported by London based sector teams. In the workshop we will guide you through a typical deal situation incl. strategic considerations, valuation and financing. You will get an insight into a detailed financial model, which will be the basis for your work around the valuation and financing considerations of the case study. We will give you the opportunity to see what we do day-in and day-out in our team across the diverse range of products an integrated and global investment bank like Barclays provides to its clients.

Markets

Within the fast, fascinating and incredibly dynamic area of global markets we execute and risk-manage trades for major institutional clients across the full range of asset classes. During the workshop you will experience what it takes to work as a finance professional on the trading floor. Within a small team your task will be to develop a trade solution tailored to the client’s risk and return profile. During the workshop you will master key challenges such as analyzing and matching market and client information, structuring innovative product solutions in a short period of time and finally delivering a convincing presentation of your ideas.

Citi: Investment Banking Workshop

Are you fascinated by the idea of a career in Investment Banking? Perhaps you know where you would like to be but want to find out how to get there?

Come in and find out how Investment Banking works, get a first-hand understanding of the dynamics in mergers & acquisitions and capital markets. You will discover how to develop your career in Investment Banking at Citi and meet senior bankers. Flow Traders Company Presentation and Trading Challenge

The company presentation will held in English and will last about an hour, followed by the Trading Challenge.

Have you ever been curious to know what a trader does? Flow Traders offers you the chance to hear firsthand from a trader and gain more insight into the world of trading. During this presentation a recruiter and trader will provide you with information about our core-business and what a day in the life of a trader is like. You will also learn about our company culture, cutting edge technology and how you can become a trader yourself! We will play a trading game. The trading game is an exciting opportunity to compete with your fellow students and see if you may have what it takes to become a trader. Your mathematical and analytical skills will be put to the test. There will be one winner and a prize up for grabs!

Private Equity Workshop with Armira Partners

How does a professional investor evaluate a potential Private Equity deal? What issues are most relevant for assessing an industry and a business model and how much is the company worth? In this Case Study workshop you will assume the role of an investment manager and analyze a potential deal in order to present it to the investment committee and give an investment recommendation. In doing so, you will get insight into the daily business of a private equity investor and you will also get a good preparation for a typical case interview for private equity positions.
