Speaker: Kai Linde, Investment Manager

Kai Linde, Investment Manager at Extorel, oversees Extorel's investments during the entire investment cycle. His focus lies on technology companies, as he is familiar with all their technical and organisational aspects.

During the work as co-founder and CEO of different technology companies, Mr. Linde gained expert experience in the foundation and growth process of start-ups. While studying Computer Science in Augsburg, Munich and the USA he developed a deep understanding of software development, which he demonstrated in a multitude of projects, conferences and competitions.

Mr. Linde will portray his work as Investment Manager, the process of identifying prosperous start-ups and the entire investment cycle with actual examples.

Case Study: Grundlagen der Immobilienökonomie

Speaker: Michael Bohde, Manager, Corporate Finance Division

Michael Bohde, Manager in the Corporate Finance division at KPMG, will first give an overview of the real estate sector while pointing out its macroeconomic fit and importance. He will further shed light on the players in the real estate sector (REITS, Funds, Private Equity etc.) and talk about their different motives.

Following the introduction Mr. Bohde will conduct a case study about a large real estate deal in Munich. The question: which measures can investors take to increase the value of their real estate?

Michael Smith is a lecturer in finance and dealing room director at the ICMA Centre where he has been teaching the derivative securities module since 1994. He was formerly a city trader for 8 years where he made markets in cash equities before moving on to a variety of derivatives desks. He holds a BA in Economics from Leeds University, a Diploma in Mathematics from the Open University and a PhD and MSc in Finance from Reading University. He provides regular training programs for investment banks globally with clients including Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan Chase and UniCredit. He is a visiting lecturer at the Doctoral School of Economics in Bucharest, The University of Stellenbosch Business School in Cape-Town and the Technical University of Munich.
