Connecting students through education, research, and real-world investing

Our Departments

The TU Investment Club is built on six departments—five with a social and organizational focus (Education, Community, Infrastructure, External Affairs, and Member Development) and one centered on investing. Every member contributes to at least one department. While the organizational teams foster community, growth, and outreach, the Investing department works hands-on with our real-money fund, the MSMIF.

Investing

The Investing Department is the core of the club. Each semester all members slip into the role of an Analyst and present a company analysis, conducted in small teams, in form of a stock pitch in our weekly meetings. If deemed an interesting case for our real-money fund, the MSMIF, an investment committee proceeds to further evaluate all risks and the investment thesis before passing the final investment decision.

Education

The Education Department aims to strengthen and extend the knowledge base of the club’s members. Therefore, their responsibilities include knowledge management, internal education, the analyst program, and the advanced analyst program.

External Affairs

The External Affairs department is responsible for the club’s communication to students and industry partners. The aim is to enhance the club’s visibility through different marketing activities, while developing and fostering relationships to our sponsors through workshops and events.

Infrastructure

The Infrastructure Department is responsible for the club’s financial, legal and IT matters as well as the administration of its members. Comprising the club’s main internal processes, some of the areas of responsibility include budgeting, the assurance of compliance with legal requirements, and the development and administration of the IT infrastructure.

Member Development

The Member Development department empowers club members to grow professionally and academically by providing tailored career guidance and skill-building opportunities. Through the support of experienced senior members and alumni, the department helps members set clear goals and equips them with the tools to achieve long-term success.

Community

The Community Department manages the recruiting process and is responsible for the internal networking of TU Investment Club members. Moreover, this department ensures the valuable integration of our Alumni and leads the Women in Finance initiative.

Jan Chen

Head of Member Development
Jan Chen

Jan is currently pursuing his Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems at the Technical University of Munich. He gained experience across consulting, startups, and research on applications of large language models. Outside his studies and work, he enjoys playing piano, fencing, and a good game of poker.

Friedrich von Nussbaum

Head of Education
Friedrich von Nussbaum

Friedrich is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich. He has experience in M&A and Consulting. In his free time, he loves to go bouldering, reading and playing poker with his friends.

Victoria Felber

Head of External Affairs
Victoria Felber

Victoria is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree in Business Administration at LMU. She has already gained experience in M&A, Tax Compliance for Private Equity entities, and Real Estate Management. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, or playing video games.

Franco Schneider

Head of Investing
Franco Schneider

Franco is currently pursuing his bachelor's degree in Business Administration at LMU. He has already gained experience in Risk Management, Corporate M&A, and Valuation. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, mountain biking, and reading about interesting companies.

Lea Reischenböck

Head of Community
Lea Reischenböck

Lea is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich. She has gained practical experience in Risk Management, with a focus on market and operational risk. When she is not studying or drafting teams messages, she likes to dance, read or listen to musicals.

Quirin Ranner

Head of Infrastructure
Quirin Ranner

Quirin is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Management & Technology at the Technical University of Munich. He has experience in M&A, Education Technology, and as a Research Assistant for human mobility. When he is not studying or working, he enjoys running, skiing, and playing “Schafkopf”.

Celebrating at the Nymphenburg Palace, looking back on the achievements of 15 years of TU Investment Club.

London Tour

We headed over to the UK, had insightful workshops at, e.g. BofA and Bloomberg, caught up with alumni, and got a tour of the University of Cambridge!

Attending the annual Berkshire Hathaway Shareholder meeting

We attended the meeting, had interesting discussions with prominent figures in value investing and met up with other student investment initiatives in the US!

The first days

Jens Grudno looks for fellow interested students to establish an investment club in Munich. The team gains support of Prof. Kaserer, head of the Department of Financial Management and Capital Markets at TU Munich.
